Austism and ADHD: Treatments and Supports for Children and Families
AuDHD is an emerging acronym recognizing comorbidity of ASD and ADHD. This presentation examines strategies and considerations related to assessment, diagnosis, and intervention with children and their families focusing on best practices across childhood and into adulthood.
As a result of this presentation, participants will be able to:
- Describe the research psychologists use from assessments and the challenges associated with diagnosing ADHD and autism
- Identify non-medical interventions used to manage symptoms for children diagnosed with ASD and ADHD (AuDHD), from the time they are diagnosed through adolescence
- Describe the supports and accommodations commonly included in reports by psychologists to address the needs of the ADHD population
